ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET…THE MYELOMA CHALLENGE

I’m 39 years old, no history of illness, Ironman finisher who has been diagnosed with myeloma. Did not see this coming. This blog summarises my journey from unexpected diagnosis through the treatment path. My aim is to use myeloma as a catalyst for living a better, more fulfilling life and documenting the changes I am making in all aspects of my family and work commitments.

The news is… there is no news

Due to a “technical glitch” in ” the new system” I have the luxury of a chemo free night in the hospital because they failed to make up the drugs and by the time this was identified, it was too late to start.

So wasted time there.

And, we will find out the latest paraprotein numbers Thursday now because the bloods weren’t sent last week and they only run the paraprotein tests on, you guessed it, Thursdays.

More wasted time.

On the plus side it looks like my back op will be in 4 weeks so not too long to wait.

Watch this space…

    Hi Pete,
There is not much you can do to speed up the processes but to retain your sanity. You are going through a lot and there seem to be more to come. Hopefully, the outcome will justify the hardship you have been enduring. Looking forward to your good progress.
