ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET…THE MYELOMA CHALLENGE

I’m 39 years old, no history of illness, Ironman finisher who has been diagnosed with myeloma. Did not see this coming. This blog summarises my journey from unexpected diagnosis through the treatment path. My aim is to use myeloma as a catalyst for living a better, more fulfilling life and documenting the changes I am making in all aspects of my family and work commitments.

15 and out

Not much more to say.

Bloods have taken a miraculous leap north in the last 24 hours so I am happily typing this from Ridley.

It’s not the end and I don’t feel the elation I thought I would because true success will only be known in the weeks and months ahead.

But for now I have the 3 people that mean the most to me under the same roof and I’ll afford myself a small high five for getting through the last 2 weeks.

I’m back in the Christie as a day patient Thursday to have the Hickman line removed and bloods reviewed.

Then after that..?
